Approach
We work in close partnership with our clients to co-create solutions for their unique challenges.
Each engagement is different, however our approach is always built on 5 core principles:
- Focus on delivering results & building capability at the same time
All successful organizations focus on delivering results and building capability – but often not at the same time. We believe this is essential to making change succeed in the long term. We maintain an intentional focus on development in the midst of strategic execution to ensure our clients build capability for the future – not just the current challenge.
- Strengthen from the top down AND bottom up
Many organizational change efforts fail because they’re either too top or too bottom heavy. Change efforts that are too top heavy focus on senior team planning and development but are disconnected from the reality on the ground. Change efforts that are too bottom heavy focus on tactical change but don’t serve a shared vision. Our integrated approach combines strategic alignment and leader development at the top with a clear process for building momentum on the ground.
- Engage leaders and teams in rapid cycles of planning, action & learning
Often organizations have challenges that can be solved more rapidly than they believe they can. Our rapid cycle approach is designed to unlock the energy to do just that. It’s a structured framework in which clients, alongside us, quickly dig into issues, make plans, take action, and get smarter together. Each cycle informs the next, allowing teams to see results quickly and refine ways of working as they execute.
- Signal progress early and often
A significant impediment to change work is the perception that “nothing’s changing”. Clarifying and appropriately communicating plans and accomplishments along the way is crucial to signaling that change is happening. Our approach helps clients set the right expectations, making sure people in the organization understand and are involved with the progress being made.
- Use current challenges as building blocks to larger scale change
The secret to making large scale change work is breaking the vision down into shorter-term targets. “Chunking” the change in this way increases the tangibility of what needs to be done, and builds enthusiasm for it by creating break points that can be declared successful. It also provides natural pauses to assess and tweak strategies if needed.
